1 Bag of Cement Covers How Much Area of Plaster?

1 Bag of cement covers approx 101 square feet area of plaster when the plaster layer is 12 mm thick and mortar mix ratio is 1:4 (cement:sand).

1 Bag of Cement Covers How Much Area of Plaster

Calculation For 1 Bag of Cement Covers How Much Area of Plaster (Ratio 1:4)

To calculate area of plaster covered by one bag of cement, we have some assumption as the plastering layer is 12 mm thick and mortar ratio is 1:4 where one part is cement and 4 part is sand.

Assumptions and Requirements
  • Quality of cement = 50 kg (1 Bag)
  • Plastering thickness = 12 mm
  • Mortar ratio = 1:4 (cement: sand)
  • Shrinkage factor and waste factor = 1.54
  • Density of cement = 1440 kg/m³

Dry Volume of Mortar Mix
Since, Quantity of Cement
= Dry Volume of Mortar × Density of Cement × (Proportion of Cement / Total Sum of Proportion)
So, Dry volume of Mortar Mix
= Quantity of Cement / {Density of Cement × (Proportion of Cement / Total Sum of Proportion)}
= 50 kg / {1440 kg/m³ × (1/5)}
= 0.1736 m³

Wet Volume of Mortar Mix
Wet volume of mortar mix
= Dry volume / Shrinkage and west factor
= 0.1736 / 1.54
= 0.1127 m³

Area of Plaster Calculation
Since, Volume of Plastering Area
= Area of Plastering × Thickness of Mortar Layer
Hence, Area of Plastering
= Volume of Plastering Area / Thickness of Mortar Layer
= 0.1127 m³ / 0.012 m
= 9.39 m²
= 101 Square Feet

Calculation For 1 Bag of Cement Covering Area in Plastering (Ratio 1:5)

To calculate area of plaster covered by one bag of cement, we have some assumption as the plastering layer is 12 mm thick and mortar ratio is 1:5 where one part is cement and 4 part is sand.

Assumptions and Requirements
  • Quality of cement = 50 kg (1 Bag)
  • Plastering thickness = 12 mm
  • Mortar ratio = 1:5 (cement: sand)
  • Shrinkage factor and waste factor = 1.54
  • Density of cement = 1440 kg/m³

Dry Volume of Mortar Mix
Since, Quantity of Cement
= Dry Volume of Mortar × Density of Cement × (Proportion of Cement / Total Sum of Proportion)
So, Dry volume of Mortar Mix
= Quantity of Cement / {Density of Cement × (Proportion of Cement / Total Sum of Proportion)}
= 50 kg / {1440 kg/m³ × (1/6)}
= 0.2083 m³

Wet Volume of Mortar Mix
Wet volume of mortar mix
= Dry volume / Shrinkage and west factor
= 0.2083 / 1.54
= 0.1353 m³

Area of Plaster Calculation
Since, Volume of Plastering Area
= Area of Plastering × Thickness of Mortar Layer
Hence, Area of Plastering
= Volume of Plastering Area / Thickness of Mortar Layer
= 0.1353 m³ / 0.012 m
= 11.275 m²
= 121.4 Square Feet

1 Bag of cement covers approx 121.4 square feet area of plaster when the plaster layer is 12 mm thick and mortar mix ratio is 1:5 (cement:sand).
