0
Dear visitors, when we construct brick structure, we try to know the exact number of bricks required in our project. Here is the answer of "how many bricks required for 10×10 feet wall" or "how many bricks required in 100 sqf wall".

How Many Bricks Required For 10×10 Feet Wall?

Bricks required for 10×10 feet wall is 495 bricks with 10% extra wastage, where wall thickness is 4 inch and the mortar layer is 12 mm.
In this calculation we have used Indian Standard size of brick 190×90×90 mm but also you can see the calculation for non-modular size bricks 230×110×70 mm. The number of bricks required in 10×10 wall will depend upon the size of brick, mortar thickness and wastage of bricks during construction.

How Many Bricks Required For 10×10 Feet Wall? - Brick Calculation in Wall

Calculation For Number of Bricks Required in 10×10 Feet Wall

To calculate the number of bricks in 10×10 feet wall we will follow the below steps:

Step 1:  Requirements and Considerations

To calculate "how many number of bricks required for 10×10 wall" we need to ensure our requirements in the brick wall along with some future consideration in the construction.

Our Requirements
Our requirements are following:
  1. Size of wall is 10×10 square feet
  2. There is no gate in 10×10 wall
  3. There is no window in 10×10 wall
  4. We are also ignoring ventilation because its not required in the wall.

Our Consideration
Our considerations to calculate bricks wall are following:

  1. One sided wall (wall size= 10 feet x 10 feet or 120 inch x 120 inch).
  2. Brick size (IS modular size brick= 190×90×90 mm and IS non-modular size brick 230×110×70 mm).
  3. Mortar thickness 12 mm (10 mm to 12 mm) and
  4. Wall thickness is 4 inch or 4.5 inch (one brick thickness)

Step 2: Calculate Face Area of Wall (10×10)

Since, there is a single wall, we need to calculate the area of 10×10 wall.
  • Length of the 10×10 wall = 10 feet.
  • Height of the 10×10 wall = 10 feet.
So, the area of 10×10 wall
= length of wall × height of wall
= 10 feet × 10 feet
= 100 square feet.

Step 3: Determine Number of Bricks

To determine number of bricks for 10×10 wall, we need to first calculate the face area or covering area of a brick with mortar thickness.

Face Area (Covering Area) of Each Brick With Mortar (12 mm Mortar Thickness)
1. For Indian Standard Modular Size Brick (190×90×90 mm)
= (Length of Brick + Thickness of mortar) × (Height of Brick + Thickness of mortar)
= (190 mm + 12 mm) × (90 mm + 12 mm)
= 202 mm × 102 mm
= 20604 mm² or 0.222 square feet.

2. For Indian Standard Non- Modular Size Brick (230×110×70 mm)
= (Length of Brick + Thickness of mortar) × (Height of Brick + Thickness of mortar)
= (230 mm + 12 mm) × (70 mm + 12 mm)
= 242 mm × 82 mm
= 19844 mm² or 0.214 square feet

Number of Bricks Required in 10×10 Feet Wall of 4 Inch Thickness (Modular Brick)
= Total Face Area of Brick Work/ Face Area of a Brick with Mortar Thickness
= 100 square feet/0.222 square feet
450 Bricks

Taking 10% wastage of bricks. So, number of bricks in 10×10 wall = 450 +10% of 450 = 495 Bricks.
Hence, the total number of bricks required  for 10×10 square feet wall of 4 inch thickness is 495 nos approximately.
Therefore, we would need approximately 495 bricks to cover the walls of a 10×10 square feet wall of 4 inch with standard brick size of 190×90×90 mm.

Number of Bricks Required in 10×10 Feet Wall of 4.5 Inch Thickness (Non-Modular Brick)
= Total Face Area of Brick Work/ Face Area of a Brick with Mortar Thickness
= 100 square feet/0.214 square feet
467 Bricks

Taking 10% wastage of bricks. So, number of bricks in 10×10 wall = 467 +10% of 467 = 514 Bricks.
Hence, the total number of bricks required  for 10×10 square feet wall of 4 inch thickness is 514 nos approximately.
Therefore, we would need approximately 514 bricks to cover the walls of a 10×10 square feet wall of 4.5 inch with standard brick size of 230×110×70 mm and mortar thickness 12 mm.

It's important to note that this calculation is an estimate and may vary depending on factors such as the pattern of the brickwork, the size of the mortar joints and the amount of waste generated during construction. It's always a good idea to order a few extra bricks than what you think you'll need in the construction.

How Many Bricks Required For 10×10 Wall (9 Inch and 10 Inch Wall)

To calculate number of bricks in 10×10 square feet wall, we need to consider size of bricks and thickness of wall.

Step 1:  Requirements and Considerations

To calculate "how many number of bricks required for 10×10 wall" we need to ensure our requirements in the brick wall along with some future consideration in the construction.

Our Requirements

Our requirements are following:
  1. Size of wall is 10×10 square feet
  2. There is no gate in 10×10 wall
  3. There is no window in 10×10 wall
  4. We are also ignoring ventilation because its not required in the wall.

Our Consideration

Our considerations to calculate bricks wall are following:

  1. One sided wall (wall size= 10 feet x 10 feet or 120 inch x 120 inch).
  2. Brick size (IS modular size brick= 190×90×90 mm and IS non-modular size brick 230×110×70 mm).
  3. Mortar thickness 12 mm (10 mm to 12 mm) and
  4. Wall thickness is 9 inch or 10 inch (two brick thickness)

We are using two bricks thickness in wall. So, double the face area of brick work
= 200 square feet.

Step 3: Determine Number of Bricks

To determine number of bricks for 10×10 wall, we need to first calculate the face area or covering area of a brick with mortar thickness.

Face Area (Covering Area) of Each Brick With Mortar (12 mm Mortar Thickness)
For Indian Standard Modular Size Brick (190×90×90 mm)
= (Length of Brick + Thickness of mortar) × (Height of Brick + Thickness of mortar)
= (190 mm + 12 mm) × (90 mm + 12 mm)
= 202 mm × 102 mm
= 20604 mm² or 0.222 square feet.

For Indian Standard Non- Modular Size Brick (230×110×70 mm)
= (Length of Brick + Thickness of mortar) × (Height of Brick + Thickness of mortar)
= (230 mm + 12 mm) × (70 mm + 12 mm)
= 242 mm × 82 mm
= 39688 mm² or 0.214 square feet

Number of Bricks Required in 10×10 Feet Wall of 9 Inch Thickness (Modular Brick)
= Total Face Area of Brick Work/ Face Area of a Brick with Mortar Thickness
= 200 square feet/0.222 square feet
901 Bricks

Taking 10% wastage of bricks. So, number of bricks in 10×10 wall = 901 +10% of 901 = 991 Bricks.
Hence, the total number of bricks required  for 10×10 square feet wall of 4 inch thickness is 991 nos approximately.
Therefore, we would need approximately 991 bricks to cover the walls of a 10×10 square feet wall of 9 inch with standard brick size of 190×90×90 mm.

Number of Bricks Required in 10×10 Feet Wall of 10 Inch Thickness (Non-Modular Brick)
= Total Face Area of Brick Work/ Face Area of a Brick with Mortar Thickness
= 200 square feet/0.214 square feet
935 Bricks

Taking 10% wastage of bricks. So, number of bricks in 10×10 wall = 935 + 10% of 935 = 1029 Bricks.
Hence, the total number of bricks required  for 10×10 square feet wall of 4 inch thickness is 1029 nos approximately.
Therefore, we would need approximately 1029 bricks to cover the walls of a 10×10 square feet wall of 10 inch with standard brick size of 230×110×70 mm and mortar thickness 12 mm.
It's important to note that this calculation is an estimate and may vary depending on factors such as the pattern of the brickwork, the size of the mortar joints and the amount of waste generated during construction. It's always a good idea to order a few extra bricks than what you think you'll need in the construction.
