Dear visitors! In this blog post we will see the number of bricks required in 1000 square feet wall. See the complete post to know the concept.

How to Calculate Number of Bricks in a Wall (4 Inch and 9 Inch)

4956 red bricks are required for 1000 square feet wall approximately. In this calculation we are using Indian standard brick size (190×90×90 mm) and 12 mm mortar thickness.

Bricks Calculation For 4 Inch (1000 Square Feet Wall)

To calculate number of red bricks required for 1000 square feet wall of 4 inch thickness. In this we have some requirements and considerations.

Requirements

The requirements of the 1000 square feet wall are
  • A single flat wall or a combination of many walls
  • No opening (like door or window) in wall

Considerations

The considerations of the 1000 square feet wall are
  • Face area of wall is 1000 square feet
  • Brick size (Indian standard brick) is 190 × 90 × 90 mm
  • Mortar thickness 12 mm and
  • Wall thickness is 4 inch.

Face Area of a Single Brick With 12 mm Mortar Thickness

= (Length of Brick + Thickness of Mortar) × (Height of Brick + Thickness of Mortar)
= (190 mm + 12 mm) × (90 mm + 12 mm)
= 202 × 102
= 20604 mm² or 0.222 square feet

How Many Bricks Required For 1000 Square Feet Wall?

Number of Bricks Required For 1000 Square Feet House

= Total Face Area of Brick Walls / Face Area of a Single Brick
= 1000 square feet / 0.222 square feet
= 4504.5 Bricks (Say 4505 Bricks)

Taking 10% waste during brick masonry works and total construction works.
So, total number of brick is 4505 + 10% of 4505 = 4956 Bricks

Final Result

The total number of red bricks required for 1000 square feet 4 inch wall is 4956 nos approximately.

So, we would need approximately 4956 red bricks to cover 1000 square feet wall area in which mortar thickness of 12 mm and the standard brick size of 190×90×90 mm are used.

It's important to note that this calculation is an estimate and may vary depending on factors such as the pattern of the brickwork, the size of the mortar joints and the amount of waste generated during construction. It's always a good idea to order a few extra bricks than what you think you'll need in the construction.

Bricks Calculation For 9 Inch (1000 Square Feet Wall)

To calculate number of red bricks required for 1000 square feet wall of 4 inch thickness. In this we have some requirements and considerations.

Requirements

The requirements of the 1000 square feet wall are
  • A single flat wall or a combination of many walls
  • No opening (like door or window) in wall

Considerations

The considerations of the 1000 square feet wall are
  • Face area of wall is 1000 square feet
  • Brick size (Indian standard brick) is 190 × 90 × 90 mm
  • Mortar thickness 12 mm and
  • Wall thickness is 9 inch.

Number of Bricks Required For 1000 Square Feet House

= Total Face Area of Brick Walls / Face Area of a Single Brick
Since the wall thickness is made by just doubling the face area of bricks in masonry work. So, multiply face area with 2.
= 2 × 1000 square feet / 0.222 square feet
= 9009 Bricks

Taking 10% waste during brick masonry works and total construction works.
So, total number of brick is 9009 + 10% of 9009 = 9910 Bricks

Final Result

The total number of red bricks required for 1000 square feet 9 inch wall is 9910 nos approximately.

So, we would need approximately 9910 red bricks to cover 1000 square feet of  9 inch wall area in which mortar thickness of 12 mm and the standard brick size of 190×90×90 mm are used.
